WHAT WE DO BEST
In bat-related research and learning there are topics in which we have been long-term experts. Among those is detector-based study on European bats, including:
- efficient bat counting methods
- choosing the right places to find bats, even rare species
- monitoring bat populations over time
- identifying bat species in flight, using the diagnostic characters of their ultrasound calls
In recent years we have been working on field identification of forest-dwelling species of Myotis (brandtii, mystacinus and nattereri), using special characters of their calls.
